Cancellation Policy- For participants who cancel their place on a course over two weeks before the course start date, a full refund will be given. Where payment has not been made, the course fees will be waived.
- For participants who cancel their place on a course less than two weeks before the course start date, no refund will be given. Where payment has not been made, the full fee will be due.
- If Cumbria Learning Links cancels a course within 7 days of the start date, we will contact participants booked onto the course and endeavour to rearrange the course on a date convenient to all.
Bursary Policy
- All participants are encouraged to approach their organisation for funding towards their professional development.
- Bursaries will be considered for training fees and costs related to access of training e.g. transport, childcare, interpreters.
- Limited bursaries are available towards the cost of training offered through Cumbria Learning Links and other providers.
- Where organisations cannot afford the total cost of the training, participants will be considered for a bursary of up to 50% of the costs.
- A maximum of £150 will be given to an applicant in any one academic year.
- Participants will be notified of the decision made with regard to their application within two days of the closing date for course applications.
- Any bursary awarded will be withdrawn if the course is not attended and, with regard to Cumbria Learning Links courses, the cancellation policy will apply.

Cumbria Learning Links will seek to comply with all legal requirements (existing or proposed) which it has knowledge of. If you feel there is something we have overlooked please raise in the first instance with the Manager.
You are entitled to complain if you think that Cumbria Learning Links has not complied with this policy.
Complaints compliments and Suggestions Made Easy
We encourage all participants to comment on the quality of their experience during their association with Cumbria Learning Links, from finding out about the course to the course delivery itself. We want you to tell us what is good, what can be improved or express dissatisfaction with any aspects of the service we provide. This could also include issues related to equality and diversity.

How to make a complaint
The quality of your experience of the training we offer is very important to us. If you have any reason to complain, please follow the course of action outlined below:
- Speak to your trainer first – he or she should be able to help you.
- If you do not get satisfaction you are invited to complete a complaint form which can be obtained from Cumbria CVS and send it directly to the Programme Coordinator of Cumbria Learning Links.
- Your complaint will be addressed within ten working days. Some complaints are more complex and can take longer – however you will be informed in writing within ten working days if this is the case.
- If you remain unsatisfied please write to the Manager of Cumbria learning Links outlining your complaint. Your complaint will be addressed within ten working days.
- In the case that the issue remains unresolved you are invited to write to the Chair of the Cumbria Association of Councils for Voluntary Service – contact details available from Cumbria Learning Links. Again your complaint will be addressed within ten working days.
You can be assured that complaints will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. All complaints are monitored annually.
How to make a compliment or suggestion
If your experience of the course has been a good one or you have any suggestions to make that would help us improve the training we offer we would like to hear from you. The form, which can be obtained from Cumbria CVS can be used for this purpose and you could either send it to the Programme Coordinator directly at the address given or hand it to your course tutor.
Again your comments will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
