| Description | FCN is the voice of the voluntary & community sector in the Barrow borough. The Network has been funded through the government\'s \'Safer & Stronger Communities Fund\' to involve the local VCS in Barrow\'s Local Strategic Partnership. Membership of the Network currently stands at 375 groups. Groups can get involved in local regeneration through Network Forums, on themes such as health, housing & environment, learning, crime & employment. Members also access our information services - a quarterly bulletin & e-bulletin and can advertise their seminar free of charge on our website, or through our five community newspapers. Furness Community Network also distributes small grants (community chest) and leads the development Neigbourhood Partnerships in the borough. www.furness-community.org.uk |
