ABOUT US

Cumbria Learning Links is a programme of Cumbria Council for Voluntary Service (Cumbria CVS) who created this initiative in order to meet the training and learning needs of the voluntary and community sector (vcs) county wide in the most effective and consistent manner.
Cumbria Learning Links serves all organisations in the vcs in Cumbria concerned with or involved with learning and training for staff, volunteers, service users, trustees or the community. We have a service delivery arm, as well as a membership network which is free to join.
Cumbria Learning Links promotes learning as a tool to tackle disadvantage, with a particular commitment to smaller organisations to help them build capacity to carry out their organisational objectives.

Cumbria Learning Links aims:
  • To represent the views and interests of the Cumbrian voluntary and community sectors to key strategic partners in the field of education, training and learning.
  • To support the development of voluntary and community organisations as users and providers of education, training and learning.

What does Cumbria Learning Links do?

  • disseminate and provide access to information on learning and training opportunities, on funding for learning and training, and on other relevant matters to organisations in the voluntary and community sector;
  • represent the learning and training needs of member organisations to strategic partners and other relevant bodies;
  • submit and negotiate funding contracts with funding bodies on behalf of members. Cumbria CVS will hold and manage all contracts on our behalf;
  • promote quality standards across the county;
  • organise meetings, workshops and training-related events for members and other interested parties;
  • provide core generic accredited and non-accredited training to meet the needs of the voluntary and community sector in Cumbria
